Our Philosophy

Fluidity Physical Therapy's philosophy is based on the concept of structural and functional rehabilitation. Structural rehabilitation corrects anatomic dysfunction. An "integrative systems approach" is implemented to evaluate & treat dysfunctions found in the body's systems including: musculoskeletal, nervous, vascular, lymph, respiratory, viscera, joint & connective tissues. A number of manual therapy techniques are implemented to address the structural dysfunction.

Functional rehabilitation than optimizes the utilization of this function. Through use of postural & movement re-education exercises such as postural restoration, Feldenkrais, pilates, & therapeutic exercises optimal function is attained.

Although functional rehabilitation will be initiated from first visit, the focus of treatment will initially be in structural rehabilitation. As the patient continues to heal, functional rehabilitation will continue to become a greater component of therapy. A HEP (home exercise program) will also be vital in addressing the functional component of rehabilitation. A team effort by the therapist & patient will be the key in the healing process.

A combination of structural & functional rehabilitation aims to maximize healing & function and improve overall wellness & quality of life as well as aid in prevention of future pain & dysfunction.

The hands on approach taken in both areas of rehabilitation provide the environment to reach the highest potential of each individual's body... a more "FLUID" you.
