Postural restoration is a form of functional and neuromuscular re-education that focuses on restoring diaphragmatic breathing and balancing muscle strength to reduce pain located in the spine and peripheral joints.
This area of treatment addresses posture and breathing dysfunctions at rest and and with movement. Once normalized the client will see decreases in pain as well as improvements in body awareness and overall functional movements.
Exercise implemented include posture/breathing exercises, pilates and yoga type movements with breathing.
Postural restoration therapy is excellent for acute and chronic pain conditions such as neck & low back pain, sport injuries, fibromylagia and arthritis to name a few.
