Fluidity Gives Back

One of Jennifer’s passions is to share her knowledge and welcomes opportunities to public speak in a variety of venues.   Schools, churches, clubs, or any organizations large or small are  welcome to give us a call and set up a date for Jennifer to come speak at an event or meeting. She can address a variety of topics dealing with health and wellness depending on what your focuses are as a group.   From sport related injuries to women and men’s health issues to migraines and IBS to general health and wellness, Jennifer can give you the tools needed to make a healthier more “FLUID” you!  We also host evening in-services for the general public during the year on a variety of health topics.

In addition to public speaking, Fluidity believes in service to our community.  Volunteer work for local charities and beyond have given Fluidity opportunities and rewarding experiences that have gone outside the walls of our practice.  We continue to expand opportunities for Fluidity staff to “give back.”  Below are some of these areas we have and are continuing to support.

VOLUNTEERING FOR LOCAL CHARITIES:

Dogs Do Therapy Too!

Justice, our “team mascot” has taken a big step this year…he has become an official, certified therapy dog!  Justice will be incorporated into our volunteer efforts in a variety of settings.   Working at  local hospitals, libraries, as well as school and community/charitable events, he will be a big part of Fluidity “giving back” to the community. Justice has already begun his work with the “Wounded Warriors” organization…what an amazingly brave group of people and Justice absolutely enjoyed it.  Although men and kids are his favorite :) , Justice enjoys all settings and people.  If your organization would like to have Justice come by, just give us a call.

Chesapeake Wine Festival

We are very proud that our volunteer efforts at the Chesapeake Wine Festival helped the Rotary Club raise over $150,000 for local charities, including the Stanley Jennings Cancer Center. We were lucky to be part of what is being described as the best wine festival people have visited in the Hampton Roads area. We had an amazing time and to see the effort of so many incredible people was spectacular.  We will definitely be volunteering again next year!

Ghent Winter Bar Tour Raises $30,000

Jennifer had an opportunity to volunteer at the Ghent Winter Bar Tour. They were brave enough to put her in charge of the Party Bus!  She was proud of being part of a group of volunteers that helped raise over $30,000 for the Edmarc Hospice of Children!  Fluidity sponsored the Spring tour in Virginia Beach as well.

LOCAL CHARITIES AND “BEYOND”:

Life Rolls On/”We Will Surf Again”

Fluidity had it’s first opportunity to work with Life Rolls On, an organization benefiting individuals with spinal cord injuries.  Hosting a variety of events throughout the year to raise money for research for spinal cord injuries, Life Rolls On successfully hosted it’s 4th annual “We Will Surf Again” in Virginia Beach,VA this summer.  The event gives the individuals that have sustained spinal cord injuries the opportunity to surf…what an amazing event to be a part of!!  Fluidity looks forward to continuing work with the organization in the “We Will Surf Again” event as well as other volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

Surfer’s Healing

Yet another amazing organization incorporating surfing into “healing.”  Surfer’s Healing benefits children with autism.  Hosting a variety of camps and events throughout the summer, Surfer’s Healing gives children with autism and opportunity to surf.  We had the opportunity to help out their big end of the year event in Virginia Beach, VA.  What an amazing experience…to see the look on the kid’s face after surfing…priceless.

Wounded Warriors

We have just begun our work with this amazing organization.  Wounded Warriors hosts several events throughout the year in support of our military that have been wounded during their brave fight for our country and others.  It has been a great opportunity to connect civilian with military families and benefit both in so many ways.  Justice and I have been humbled by the brave solders we have met thus far.  We plan to continue to work with the organization on a variety of events throughout the year.
